J. Vignier 2008 "Ma Petite Friandise" Extra-Brut

This is the first release from Nathalie's Cuvée Éphemère series (QVFMR). These are small batches of Champagne that she has been making over the years. They are unique experiences, not to be repeated; hence their ephemeral quality. The first is this 2008 100% Grand Cru from Cramant which was fermented in stainless and then ages in neutral oak and bottles in 375ml bottles only. Nathalie has named it "Ma petite Friandise" ("My little delicacy") and it is a delight. Mature chardonnay aromas of apple, brioche and oyster shell with a creamy, apply palate with deepness and a lemony lift. It was disgorged in Summer 2017 and finished with 3 grams/L cane sugar. It is a new mark of quality for this grower and my only regret is that it only comes in half bottles and that it won’t come again.
