Dreissigacker 2014 Morstein Riesling Grosse Lage

Jochen’s vines here are 40 years-old, grown on pure limestone subsoil topped with heavy clay and marl. The first documented mention of the site dates from 1282 and is considered by most to be the top site in Westhofen. 70% was fermented in stainless, 30% in neutral barrel. This has more power than the Kirchspiel and more focus than the Geyersberg; it is stony and emits aromas of orange citrus and roasted caraway seeds.
