Markus Altenburger 2017 Neuburger "Betont"

Neuburger is a crossing of roter veltliner and sylvaner, and it typically produces full-bodied white wines. Markus did 5 days of skin contact in this vintage before it was pressed and fermented in concrete eggs. It’s straw-yellow in color and seems alive in the glass. Aromas change as the wine reacts to air, dancing from hyacinth to lemon to pine. Flavors also move from lemon curd to hazelnuts. It is bottled unfiltered. It is unique, special, and it is not a wine for amateurs.
