Knebel

Mosel Terraces | Winningen

Matthias Knebel has become synonymous with the revolution in German wine quality. His fidelity to painstaking, handwrought viticulture in the unique landscape of the Mosel Terraces yields extraordinary results across his range, from a ridiculously undervalued village bottling to the magnificent GGs. The wines, from one of the most dynamic yet overlooked regions in Germany, deliver unadulterated intensity with an emphasis on texture, minerality, purity, and superb finesse.

Knebel 2016 Röttgen Riesling Kabinett

This Kabinett was harvested in the mid 80° Oechsle and fermented down to 35 grams/L residual sugar. It’s less exotic than the 2015, which was like Carmen Miranda head-piece of fruit aromas. Here is mirabelle, pink grapefruit, almond blossom with a slight herbal touch to tighten up the juicy finish.
