Markus Altenburger 2017 Grüner Veltliner Ladisberg Leithaberg DAC
The Ladisberg vineyard is home to plantings of Grüner Veltliner north of 50 years old, on the famous shell-limestone of the Leithaberg hill. The influence of this terroir is expressed by combining fermentation and aging in both concrete eggs and 500L neutral barrels. The grapes are macerated for a short time before pressing and spontaneous fermentation. The wine is aged for approximately 14 months on the fine lees before bottling in March.
