Domaine Denizot

Loire | Sancerre | Verdigny

Thibauld and Jennifer Denizot are the 8th generation of their family to work a mosaic of exceptional Sancerre terroirs. They are intent on showcasing their lieux-dits through attentive farming and deliberate cellar work. Blending is the hidden art of Sancerre, one at which Thibauld excels. The taut, energetic profile of the Denizot wines reaches its apogee in the Côte de l'épée, a precipitous limestone slope that yields sauvignon blanc at its most chiseled and crystalline, and Les Bouffants, a sun-drenched site on griottes that gives wines of pronounced structure and depth. “There is not only one Sancerre, but thousands,” says Thibauld.

Domaine Denizot 2018 Sancerre

The entry to the Denizot range is collected from organically farmed vineyards in the villages of Amigny, Chavignol, Sancerre and Verdigny. All grown on limestone soils (caillotes), vines are planted fairly dense at 7,500 vines per hecatare, providing significant nutrients for each vines’ health. Even as a cuvée of terroirs the character of this Sancerre is marked significantly by its limestone soil supported by elegant white fruit.
