Markus Altenburger 2018 2018 Grüner Veltliner "Joiser Reben"
This is a new wine from Markus that we are very excited to introduce. This new grüner veltliner comes from flatter vineyards in the Ladisberg—so it’s a declassified top Leithaberg DAC site. After harvest, the grapes macerate for 2 days on the skins and are then pressed. Native yeast fermentation is carried out in stainless steel (50%) and the balance is in 700L concrete eggs and neutral oak barrels, followed by 8 months of undisturbed aging on the lees in neutral oak barrel. After one racking and brief aging in concrete and stainless steel, the final wine is bottled un-fined and un-filtered.
