Domaine Ruet
Beaujolais | Cercié
Domaine Ruet has been making wine at the foot of Mont Brouilly in Cercié-en-Beaujolais since 1926. Now in its fourth generation under Katy and David Duthel, the 20-hectare estate spans south-facing slopes of granite, schist, and shallow stony soils. They produce parcellaire wines from five crus (Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Morgon, Chiroubles, and Régnié) using organic practices, each vinified separately with indigenous yeasts to express its distinct terroir. Domaine Ruet holds fast to the tradition of semi-carbonic maceration, indigenous yeasts, and has harvested their vineyards by hand since the beginning.
Domaine Ruet 2018 Brouilly “Cuvée Vieilles Vignes”
The old vines cuvée from Brouilly are from vines that are 60-100 years old. This was fermented in 100% stainless steel to preserve freshness, since the old vines produce natural low yields with high concentration. It remained in stainless for 12 months prior to bottling. Fruity aromas of raspberry and blackberry are in harmony with licorice undertones. We recommend decanting this wine.
