Domaine Ruet

Beaujolais | Cercié

Domaine Ruet has been making wine at the foot of Mont Brouilly in Cercié-en-Beaujolais since 1926. Now in its fourth generation under Katy and David Duthel, the 20-hectare estate spans south-facing slopes of granite, schist, and shallow stony soils. They produce parcellaire wines from five crus (Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Morgon, Chiroubles, and Régnié) using organic practices, each vinified separately with indigenous yeasts to express its distinct terroir. Domaine Ruet holds fast to the tradition of semi-carbonic maceration, indigenous yeasts, and has harvested their vineyards by hand since the beginning.

Domaine Ruet 2019 Côte de Brouilly

The Côte de Brouilly boasts higher elevations, comparable to those of Chiroubles, and therefore shares a similar elegance while remaining intense and powerful due to it's distinctive blue granite soil composition. Blueberry and iris notes are the take aways here.
