Domaine des Landions
Neuchâtel
As a gronomist, Denis Meier is very passionate about the soil and the vine, and has understood that a good wine is made in the vineyard. For 15 years, it has been replanting very high quality Pinot Noirs on its best terroirs, renowned for their low vigor and yields. After a Master at HEC Lausanne and a National Diploma of Oenology in France, Morgan made several vinifications abroad, before finally returning to the family estate in 2015. His objective: to produce qualitative wine following a traditional production process.
Domaine des Landions 2022 "Les Cailloutis" Pinot Noir
Cailloutis is the village wine and the most approachable in the range, a blend drawn from vines across both of the domaine's communes, Cortaillod and Vaumarcus. The soils mix clay and limestone with river gravel and sand, the stony ground that gives the wine its name. It's spontaneously fermented in open-top stainless tanks, and sees 18 months in 228L barrique, 20% of which are new. It represents the house style, fruity, delicate and elegant, with finesse and great drinkability.
