Pascal Doquet

Champagne | Côte des Blancs | Vertus

With holdings of old vines in some of the greatest terroirs in the Cote des Blancs, Pascal Doquet has emerged over the last decade or so as one of the premier vignerons in Champagne. He originally took over his family estate Doquet-Jeanmaire in 1995 and after his father retired, Pascal established his eponymous domaine in 2004. Today he farms just under 9 hectares of vines including prime parcels in Le Mésnil-sur-Oger, Vertus, and Le Mont Aimé.

Pascal Doquet 2005 Vertus "Coeur de Terroir" Brut

This Champagne is the first in Doquet’s “Coeur de Terroir” series and it comes from the chalk and clay soils from Pascal’s best sites in the mid-slope of Vertus. 60% was vinified in enamel and the rest in neutral oak, with ten years sur latte aging before disgorgement in Winter 2015, with 5 grams dosage MCR. It’s a full-bodied Champagne from this site with leesy richness and length.
