Jean-René Germanier 2017 Fendant "Balavaud" Grand Cru
Balavaud is a Grand Cru classified vineyard in the commune of Vétroz where Urbain Germanier harvested his first vintage in 1896. The terroir here is marked be slate and moraine soils and is farmed organically. The chasselas (locally called fendant) comes from vines averaging 40 years old and is produced in stainless steel with extended lees aging of 10 months before bottling.
