Knebel

Mosel Terraces | Winningen

Matthias Knebel has become synonymous with the revolution in German wine quality. His fidelity to painstaking, handwrought viticulture in the unique landscape of the Mosel Terraces yields extraordinary results across his range, from a ridiculously undervalued village bottling to the magnificent GGs. The wines, from one of the most dynamic yet overlooked regions in Germany, deliver unadulterated intensity with an emphasis on texture, minerality, purity, and superb finesse.

Knebel 2016 Riesling "Von den Terrassen"

With the basic estate riesling drawing exclusively from Knebel’s Terrassenmosel sites in 2016, means that the “Von den Terrassen” also received a quality spike. In this vintage, it is sourced from Hamm, Domgarten, and declassified Röttgen. The 2016 shows “cooler” than the 2015: blueberry, ginger and mint with a spicy, red peppercorn, racy finish.
