Knebel
Mosel Terraces | Winningen
Matthias Knebel has become synonymous with the revolution in German wine quality. His fidelity to painstaking, handwrought viticulture in the unique landscape of the Mosel Terraces yields extraordinary results across his range, from a ridiculously undervalued village bottling to the magnificent GGs. The wines, from one of the most dynamic yet overlooked regions in Germany, deliver unadulterated intensity with an emphasis on texture, minerality, purity, and superb finesse.

Knebel 2022 Uhlen Riesling Grosses Gewächs
The Uhlen is the most renowned site in the Terraced Moselle, and it is quite striking to behold. This south-facing, wind-protected amphitheater rises over 200 meters and stretches 1.5 kilometers, featuring narrow, high, multi-tiered terraces known as Kehlen. Spanning about 15 hectares, it’s a cultivated masterpiece of hewn rock and vines that yields Rieslings of power and grace.
