Domaine Ruet
Beaujolais | Cercié
Domaine Ruet has been making wine at the foot of Mont Brouilly in Cercié-en-Beaujolais since 1926. Now in its fourth generation under Katy and David Duthel, the 20-hectare estate spans south-facing slopes of granite, schist, and shallow stony soils. They produce parcellaire wines from five crus (Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Morgon, Chiroubles, and Régnié) using organic practices, each vinified separately with indigenous yeasts to express its distinct terroir. Domaine Ruet holds fast to the tradition of semi-carbonic maceration, indigenous yeasts, and has harvested their vineyards by hand since the beginning.
Domaine Ruet 2017 Morgon "L`Eveque"
From a parcel of vines next to famous climat of Javernières and just below Les Grand Cras, this is the first time Domaine Ruet will release a wine from this unique terroir. Traditional Beaujolaise vinifcation in cement before ageing in Foudre, give this expression of L’Eveque energy and drive with bright red fruits, silky texture and crunchy, granitic mineral grip. It’s a new benchmark for quality at this up and coming domaine!
