I decided in 1990 to devote myself entirely to my passion for wine as a winemaker. After attending the wine academy in Rust, I founded my own winery in Welgersdorf in southern Burgenland. In order to make the kind of wines that already existed in our region, but in my opinion had to be much more independent. as independent as the terroir on which they grow: the calcareous Königsberg, the “opal” Tschaterberg and of course the (nomen est omen) iron and slate-rich Eisenberg.

Uwe's Blaufrankisch reflects the soils of Eisenberg. It's clearly structured, cool, and refreshing with its minerality. Medium ruby garnet, violet reflections, a beautiful sour cherry fruit on the nose - this is how it can be enjoyed even in its youth. Real drinking fun that makes it a pleasure to “have fun” more often.

- Hand harvested 09th till 13th of October, fermentation: spontaneous, no enzymes, no enhancements, no further improvements, 12-14 days alcoholic fermentation in inox tanks, max. 28°temp., naturally malolactic fermentation
