Julia Bertram 2017 Dernauer Spätburgunder
This is from Julia’s home village and the Dernauer sites of Pfarrwingert (greywacke), Burggarten (weathered slate and gravel) and Hardtberg (greywacke). After cold maceration for up to a week, it is spontaneously fermented in large, German oak, that comes from near Klingenberg, Julia’s beau’s VDP estate in Churfranken. Elevage also occurs in German oak barrels for 12-15 months, followed by an additional 3 months in stainless steel before bottling.
