Mitja Sirk 2017 Bianco IGT

This wine is a Friulano made from Tocai Friulano grapes, from one only vineyard on the Lonzano hill. The hill runs from North to South, with the Eastern slope more heavily planted. Mitja's vineyard also face East, with vines planted in the early nineties. Vinification followed a classic scheme. The alcoholic fermentation started in steel tanks by inoculating the selected yeast, with a simple cold removal of the lees. At the end of the fermentation, refining on the fine lees was prolonged until the end of winter. Malolactic fermentation occured naturally. The wine appears crisp and intense, with an intense varietal base. Strong white floral aromas are backed by subtle peach and summer fruits, and almond.
What remains is the idea of a wine that is easily drinkable, while presenting a strong aromatic character combined with a sharp and clean ending.
