J. Vignier 2008 QVFMR "Les Jardins D'Elise" Grand Cru Extra-Brut

Nathalie's 2008 expression of her ephemeral cuvée, QVFMR, is focused on three Cramant lieux-dits originally planted by her great-grandmother, Elise - Chenelots, Marais and Herbin. Vines at these sites range from 25 to 45 years in age and grow on complex soils of chalk, marl and clay. As is typical for the QVFMR cuvées, the wine was fermented in used oak barrels and aged on the fine lees until bottling in June of 2009. From there the wine was left to rest, en tirage, for 12 years before being disgorged by hand and finished with a mere 3 g/L dosage.
